The Nigerian Army formally retired 18 senior officers of the Nigerian Army Corps of Supply and Transport (NACST) on Thursday, March 26, 2026, following 35 years of meritorious service.
The officers were honored with a ceremonial “pulling-out” parade at the Nigerian Army School of Supply and Transport in Benin City, Edo State. This event marked the conclusion of a three-day corps conference themed “Optimising Supply and Transport Capabilities Towards Providing Effective Service Delivery to NA Operations in All Missions”.
Key Details of the Retirement:
Composition of Officers: The group included four Major Generals and 14 Brigadier Generals.
Duration of Service: Each of the 18 officers completed 35 years of distinguished service to the nation, spanning decades of operational, command, and staff roles.
Significance: According to the Corps Commander, Major General Danjuma Shagaya, the parade is a longstanding military tradition designed to honor the sacrifice and commitment of retiring personnel.
Representative Speaker: Major General Olaniyi Dare spoke on behalf of the retirees, highlighting the corps’ indispensable role in sustaining soldiers across various operational theaters and reaffirming their ongoing commitment to the Army’s values.
